The Peep Show

Jimmy and I decided to check out Artomatic, a huge art festival in DC. There were 9 floors of various styles of art, ranging from beautiful paintings, sculptures and pictures, to junk. There were also special events including a fashion show that ended up being more of a depressing concert, than a fashion show and the fashion that was shown was just weird and poorly designed, not eccentric and not beautiful.

I'm not huge into art so while I found some of the stuff impressive, I had a hard time keeping my attention. However, I found one exhibit that I did love. The Peep Show. Apparently, every year, DC has a contest where contestants use Peeps to create a diorama of a famous occurrence, scene or concept. It can be based on pop culture, history, the future. The only rule is that the characters must be played by Peeps, the marshmallow bunny and chicks that dominate grocery stores every Christmas and Easter. There were so many cool dioramas.

I can't believe I had never heard of it. I am definitly going to participate next year.
