Warrior Dash

I ran the Warrior Dash a few weeks ago. It was awesome. It is basically a 5k through mud with obstacles. A 5k doesn't seem like much, but it was exhausting. Running through mud was insane. People were losing their shoes as they ran and there was so much mud, they couldn't even find them. When you got mud in your eye, there was nothing you could do, because your hands and clothes were all covered with mud. The obstacles were too challenging, but I was already so tired, it was almost a good thing. They were a lot of fun obstacles though. Running through fire, swinging tires, rope climbs, crawling on your belly under barbed wire. Seriously, what is that about. You'd think they could at least use normal wire, but no...gotta go hardcore and use barbed wire. It was such an awesome experience though. Will do one again soon.





It was not even worth trying to salvage clothes or shoes. So they collected people's shoes (if they wanted) and donated them to Africa.

Birthday Cupcakes

It was my roommates birthday yesterday, and like the amazingly sweet roommate that I am, I made cupcakes. A group of us went to dinner last night and then country dancing so I had the cupcakes for dancing. One of David's favorite things are Cadbury Eggs. So I added a cadbury egg to some of the cupcake tins before they baked. I was worried the eggs would melt and get all over the place, but it actually turned our really well. David said they were a little too sweet, but I am my mothers child and don't really understand what that means. Sooo good.

Lost River

Haven't posted in a while so have a bit of catching up to do. Back in April, spent a weekend in West Virginia at the Lost River Cabins with friends. Had a blast. Games, hiking, horse back riding, and LOTS of food!! Food seems to be a recurring theme in my activities.

Peep Challenge.

Our family's peep challenge wasn't quite as expected. I had some really big ideas, but it didn't turn out quite like i hoped. But lots of good lessons learned for next year. I decided to do a scene from Despicable Me. I loved the minions-they were so funny.

Cherry Blossoms

Mom and Dad came up for the weekend for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Sadly, it was freezing and we even got snow on Saturday night. We still had a blast at the festival, walking around the blossoms and of course, eating the entire weekend. Mom and Dad especially enjoyed DC Cupcakes.

First hike of the season. It was great. White Oak Canyon in Shenandoah National Park.



We may have lost the trail for a bit. But its okay to just make a new one right?

Baltimore

Spent a weekend a while back up in Baltimore with some friends who live there. What a great place. Also, a little scary, but had a great time!!

They took me out for brunch to a place called Paper Moon. I don't even know how to describe it. Food was good, and decor was definitely unique. I even tried a bacon milkshake. Wasn't terrible, but probably wouldn't get it again.





Then we went and walked around Fort McHenry.



And just explored Baltimore (and maybe found a snack or two).
